The Legend Marching Band of Grand Bahama visited the City of Atlanta to participate in the Annual Black History Month Parade on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014.
The full band comprises 100 members strong. More than half of that membership traveled to Atlanta for the festivities, which saw the group deliver an explosive performance along the almost one-and-a-half mile route, beginning on Auburn Avenue and ending near the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Prior to the parade, The Legend Band paid a courtesy call on the office of The Bahamas Consulate General – Atlanta on the previous Friday.
Deputy Consul General, Monique D. Vanderpool and staff, and General Manager of the Atlanta Tourist Office, Edward Archer were delighted to welcome the group to the Consulate for a brief meet-and-greet with light refreshments. The group gave an awes-inspiring performance on the rooftop of the Consulate building, which drew spectators from all of the neighboring Corporate establishments.
